CTA, Metra, and Pace approved 2026 budgets without fare hikes or service cuts—thanks to a transit bailout passed last month that allowed Metra to back a $1.2 billion plan and led CTA and Pace to follow suit.
The Regional Transportation Authority will have the option to raise local sales taxes in June while drivers face toll increases of 45 cents for passenger vehicles and 30% for commercial vehicles to fund road projects.
