Good morning, Arlington Heights.
🏘️ Community
The Journal and Topics sells its local newspaper for $1 a copy and may soon raise the price to $2—this small cost helps pay local workers and keeps essential news flowing.
The paper also celebrates National Newspaper Week from Oct. 5th—11th and remains committed to informing community members.
🏛️ Government
On March 20, 2025, NWCDS fire departments in the northwest suburbs, including Arlington Heights, voted to encrypt fire radio talk groups to protect patient information during emergency responses.
Supporters of the plan say it defends sensitive data—while critics fear it may slow emergency communications.
