- ➤ Village board members in Arlington Heights decided Monday to levy a new 5% streaming tax on homeowner subscriptions to help fund six new paramedics for a fifth fire department ambulance while keeping the grocery tax in place—other local areas saw changes as Rosemont's Fashion Outlets welcomed Rag & Bone, a Grayslake brewer upgraded his taproom, Naperville and Cary maintained grocery taxes, West Chicago proposed downtown improvements, and Gurnee will consider a 40-unit workforce housing project. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Forest View High School in Arlington Heights began its varsity football program in 1963 and played 203 varsity games until low enrollment led to its closure in 1986. The Falcons finished as state runner-up in 1985 (their best season) and had standout players like Brad Quast, who was later drafted by the New York Jets. Journal & Topics Media Group
