- ➤ District 64 superintendent Ben Collins said work on renovations at Lincoln Middle, Field Elementary and Carpenter Elementary is moving faster than expected; contractors found asbestos at Field and new lockers at Lincoln may not be ready for the 2025-2026 school year. He added that prices for later phases were locked in amid tariffs + work is advancing on new student spaces at Lincoln, replacing the roof at Field and building an accessible playground at Carpenter. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Cook County's new billing system has delayed the mailing of Elk Grove Township's second installment property tax bills, with mailings now set for the end of July and payments due after Sept. 1—delays that follow the county's upgrade from an old mainframe.
