- ➤ On Tuesday, June 24, Cayman Island missionaries Rev. Gerald and Heidi Paul will share their career experiences as missionaries at 5:30 p.m. at Living Christ Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights—attendees are invited to join a free potluck supper and Q&A session. Daily Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways is planning to rebuild a 2.1-mile stretch of Buffalo Grove Road through Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights and Wheeling—repairing pavement, drainage, traffic signals and sidewalks. Officials will hold an open house on June 25 at Buffalo Grove village hall from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and construction may begin in 2027. Daily Herald
- ➤ On June 14, Indivisible Elk Grove Township held its first event in Arlington Heights where an estimated 6,000 people gathered to protest executive overreach — local and federal speakers like U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi led the rally as American flags were waved along Northwest Highway and Arlington Heights Road. The event was organized to demand a government run by the Constitution and will continue as long as governmental injustice persists. Daily Herald

- ➤ During the 2024-25 fall sports season, four Journal-area teams won state titles and Stevenson earned two runner-up finishes, while girls field hockey teams from Loyola Academy and Glenbrook South reached the Elite 8 at state—marking a memorable season. Journal & Topics Media Group
