A pending bill would require Illinois insurance plans to cover hippotherapy and other therapeutic horseback riding—treatments that use a horse's movement to help patients with conditions like cerebral palsy, autism, and behavioral disorders.
Senate Bill 69 passed unanimously in the Senate in April and received a 78-33 vote in the House in May, and it will become law if Gov. Pritzker signs it.
