🚧 Accidents
Motorcyclist Rane Pyter, age 24, of Schaumburg died after crashing into a BMW at Arlington Heights Road and Plum Grove Circle in Buffalo Grove on June 5th — he was speeding and a witness said a police officer performed CPR before paramedics took him to Endeavor Northwest Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:01 p.m.
🌲 Environment
Today, the Arlington Heights Garden Club is hosting its plant sale at the Historical Museum from 8 a.m. to noon with 1,400 plants bought from a local nursery and grown from members’ seeds and cuttings after Asian jumping worms were found in several yards, including compost bins.
The club stopped selling homegrown perennials to slow the spread of the invasive worms—small creatures that can harm soil health by outcompeting beneficial worms.
