  • Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights launches its 25th anniversary season with a revival of Grease as previews begin Sept. 17. The season will also include A Christmas Carol, Oliver!, The Play That Goes Wrong, The Wedding Singer and The Wizard of Oz—early-bird subscriptions cost $171 until May 31 while associate artistic director Tiffany Gates is named interim executive director after David Victor’s departure.  Daily Herald

  • ComEd’s electricity bills will increase on June 1—customers could face an extra $10.50 per month due to high demand and extreme weather costs. The Citizens Utility Board will host a virtual news conference to explain the rate change and offer tips for managing summer expenses.  CBS News Chicago

  • A new Chase Bank branch at 585 East Palatine Road will open on Monday, June 16 in Arlington Heights, replacing branches in Arlington Heights and Palatine near Palatine Road and Rand Road. The Arlington Heights branch at 300 East Rand Road and the Palatine branch at 1131 East Dundee Road will close on Friday, June 13 — the new building is constructed on a former AT&T phone store site with 6,000 square feet and two drive-thru lanes.  The Cardinal

  • Arlington Heights officials said the Bears stadium project is not finalized and that a full review will begin once the team confirms its decision.
