Nicor filed to raise rates by $221 million for pipeline repairs, which would add about $6 per month to suburban bills next year.
The Citizens Utility Board said the increase will push total rate hikes to over $1 billion in less than a decade and plans to challenge the filing.

On Friday, Jan. 9, a strong storm snapped a large tree in Arlington Heights and Public Works cleared its debris from the road; the storm brought record rainfall & gusts that broke temperature and rain records.
